frontliners: the forward-most forces on a battlefield

What are front liners? In military, they are referred to as

"The Forward Line of Troops, or FEBA (Front Edge of Battlefield Area). It's a term used by most armed force services worldwide. It is a battle space control measure that designates the forward-most friendly and hostile forces that are presently on the battlefield during an armed conflict or war; whether it be regular infantry or reconnaissance. It can also identify the forward location of covering and screening forces. Normally the FLOT is placed before, beyond, or at the forward-most edge of the battlefield. The adjective variant, 'front-line' is used to describe weapons, ships or aircraft that are of the latest fighting standard, or army units intended to serve at the front line." (quoted from wikipedia)

So what's the point of subsuming this stuff in my post? This is actually the title given to the manpower assigned by the firm i'm with at the front desk who accepts inquiries and enrollees - responsible for answering phone calls and making outgoing calls. This may seem facile in form. As they say, "easier said than done". But I myself consider these people as weapons, ships or aircraft in human form - facing the harsh state of the frontal battlefield.
